Pilot LGU of eLGU Project

    The local government unit (lgu) of Calamba is chosen as one of the 'Pilot LGU' of the Jumpstarting Electronic Governance in the Local Government Units or eLGU Project. The project is spearheaded by the National Computer Center (NCC) & Commission on Information & Communications Technology (CICT) with the initial funding coming from the Department of Science & Technology (DOST).

    The eLGU Project aims to improve the day-to-day operations of the lgu by providing them with computerized information systems for free, train them in Information Systems Strategic Planning (ISSP), Web Development with interactive features, technical support in the establishment of a Local Area Network (LAN) and provision of hardware for the establishment of a Community eCenter, which will provide access to information through the Internet to its constituents.
