77th Araw ng Calamba Celebration

The Municipality of Calamba, Misamis Occidental, celebrated the 77^th Araw ng Calamba on February 14, 2025. The celebration began with a grand parade at 8:00AM, led by Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanue Jr., MNSA, Municipal ViCe Mayor Hon. Antonio Lawas. They were joined by the Sanguniang Bayan member, National Agencies, Government employees, drum corp., teachers, student, and barangay captain along with officials and workers from the 19 barangay.

Following the parade, a Drum Corp Exhibition showcased the talents and skills of participating school. This exhibition added excitement to the celebration, providing entertainment for attendees and highlighting the dedication and hard work of the student performers.

In the afternoon, the highly anticipated Mob Dance Competition brought together students from High School and College, including the Sacred Heart College INC., Sacred Heart High School Department, Liberation Institute, Calamba National Comprehensives High School and College of Communication, Information and Technology (CCIT). The competition featured a diverse range of styles and performances, making for a thrilling event with impressive showcase from all participating schools.

The competition concluded with the following winners, 1^st place: Sacred Heart High School Department 2^nd place: Calamba National Comprehensive High School 3^rd place: Sacred Heart College Inc. 4^th place: Liberation Institute 5^th place: CCIT College

These events not only promote friendly competition but also fostered a strong sense of community and camaraderie among the participating schools. The energy, talent and enthusiasms of the performers made for an enjoyable afternoon for everyone in attendance.

The evening festivities feature a live band performance at the Municipal Plaza, open to the public. The “Pakatawa sa Katawhan,”featured entertainment from Digos Good Vibes, Tawag ng Tanghalan finalist Aila Santos, R2K Band, Dj Shy Feye, and Dj Jhong. Attendees thoroughly enjoyed the performances, making it a memorable night for all.

EMPLOYEES NIGHT

On February 12, 2025, 7:00PM the one of the highlight of 77th Araw ng Calamba. Employee’s Night celebration as part of the 77^th Araw ng Calamba Festivities. The event was organized to bring together employees from both private and Government agencies within the Municipality. The Theme of the celebration was “Ang Magkahiusang Calambahanon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon, ug malipayon.”

MOELCI I Corevert Court, magcamiguing, Calamba, Misamis Occidental serve as the venue for the event, and it was overseen by key figures including Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA, Municipal Administrator Engr. Ezel T. Villanueva, Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Antonio Lawas, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan. Eight Clusters participated in the celebration, showcasing their talents through different dance presentation.

EDUCATOR'S NIGHT 2025

On February 10, 2025, at 8:00 PM, the Municipal Gymnasium was filled with people from all walks of life, eager to witness the spectacular educator’s Night, the opening salvo of 77^th Araw ng Calamba. Before the program began, the crown was treated to a breathtaking five-minute Fireworks display at the Municipal Quadrangle. Following this guest and participants proceeded to the municipal Gymnasium for the main event.

The program commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the National Anthem, the Calamba March, and mass Dance. Ma’am Loida A. Intong the District Supervisor warmly welcomed everyone with her opening address.

One of the highlights of the evening was a special performance by the School administrators, which captivated the audience. Short after, Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA delivered and inspiring and motivational message. Governor Henry S. Oaminal give the inspirational talks to the educators in his remarks reminded educators that their work is not only vital for student but for the entire community, serving as the foundation for economic growth and long term success.

The most waited moment the dance presentation of the every school Teacher’s by cluster. The first performer from the cluster 1, Second performer from the cluster 6 & 7, the third performer from the cluster 2 & 5, and last but not the least performer from the cluster 3 & 4 the audience was thoroughly entertained, cheering and applauding the teachers outstanding performance. Educator’s Night proved to be a night of talent, unity, and celebration, setting the perfect tone for the 77^th Araw ng Calamba festivities.

INTERFAITH THANKSGIVING SERVICE

On February 10, 2025, the 77^th Araw ng Calamba Celebration commenced at the Municipal Gymnasium, led by Municipal Mayor Dr. Luisito B. Villanueva Jr., MNSA Vice Mayor Hon. Antonio Lawas, Municipal Municipal Administrator Engr. Ezel T. Villanueva, and the Sanguniang Bayan Member. The event was attended by national and local government employees, as well as the captains of the 19 barangays. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Ang Nagkahiusang Calambahanon Mapuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon.”

The activities began at the Municipal Quadrangle with a flag banner raising ceremony, officially marking the start of the celebration. Following this, guest and employees proceeded to the Municipal Gym for Interfaith Thanksgiving Service. Religious ministers from various denominations supported the local government unit by offering prayer foe success of the 77^th Araw ng Calamba

The event featured Religious Ministers preaching and providing prayers. Pastora Febe Entes for the Families, Pastor Crolin C. Banzuela for Churches, Pastora Virgilia B. Ingod, Pastor Dionesio a. gador for Media, Pastora Rosalinda A. Campbell for Health, Partor Edgar B. burlat, Sr. for Sports & Entertainment, Pastora lida R. Barrientos for Education, Pastor David M. Cunahap for Peace and order, Fr. Celestino Palma for science and Technology, Pastora Pilar F. Suan for Municipality of Calamba, Bro. Gunotan Alex Cobe for Subanen and Pastor Jonathan M. Tagalogon for Physical and Spirit Needs.
The annual service, held on the first day of celebration, aims to express gratitude for the blessing received throughout the year.

ABF: Ang Bisaya Of Florida

It all started when Adrienne Villanueva (Miss ABF 2022) won Miss Fil-Am of FL 2023 Beauty Pageant Charity Gala. As a winner she went to GK Salvador of Calamba Misamis Occ to do an outreach program to give back to our less fortunate brothers & sisters in the Philippines.

The Village is a 1 hectare land donated by the LGU of Calamba with 7 small houses that was built approximately 20 yrs ago but has never been improved since then, due to lack of funding.

Through the initiative of ABF- USA Humanitarian Mission Housing Project 2025 under the leadership of Ed-Susan Bilbao & Pres Arnel Artus, Project Coordinator Lito Villanueva, dedicated members of ABF and Generous Donors, in coordination with the LGU of Calamba headed by Mayor Luisito Villanueva Jr PhD, we are finally able to start construction in Jan ‘25 our Phase 1 (6 unit dwelling houses).

We are excited to share to you pics of the ongoing construction and hoping and praying to build more for the homeless and those families in need.
